From Mr. Bradford:

I am pleased to introduce Mr. Danny Martinez as the new Colorguard Director for Lake Highlands High School.  Mr. Martinez will be teaching both the colorguard and winterguard programs. 

Before joining the Lake Highlands team, Mr. Martinez taught at The Colony High School.  The Colony was promoted to the next level twice in one winterguard season.  From 2001 to 2008, Mr. Martinez taught at Crowley High School.  Under his direction, the colorguard won numerous marching and winterguard awards including Marching Auxiliaries National Champions and WGI Regional Finalist.  Mr. Martinez is the former camp director for Marching Auxiliaries of America, a summer camp company that travels around the country teaching students colorguard skills.  Mr. Martinez is also the director for Ars Nova "A" Winterguard.  Ars Nova "A" is a three time WGI World Championship Finalist. 

Mr. Martinez is also an accomplished choreographer.  He has written many award winning shows including the show for Tupelo High School, the 2007 Mississippi State Colorguard Champions. He has also choreographed for Vicksburg High School in Mississippi, Belton High School in Missouri, Birdville High School in Texas, and Manatee High School and Coral Gables High School in Florida.  Mr. Martinez has also been part of the choreography team for the halftime production at the Florida Citrus Bowl.

Working with many different age groups has given Mr. Martinez the ability to communicate with all of his students.  He has worked in Alvord, TX, as the elementary colorguard director, as well as choreographing for Wester Middle School in Mansfield, TX.  Mr. Martinez was also the instructor for Legacy Senior Winterguard for adults over the age of 30.

Mr. Martinez marched at Sam Houston High School in Arlington and was also a member of the winterguard group "Frequency Unknown", one of the first independent winterguards in North Texas.

Mr. Danny Martinez is extremely excited to be a part of the Lake Highlands Team.  He is looking forward to working with the colorguard as well as the band.
